Joe has over 30 years of experience in the financial markets and information businesses. He began his career as a financial advisor and has held numerous executive positions across Dow Jones, Barra and Reuters.
He served as President of the Dow Jones Financial Markets business, with full P&L responsibility & success for a $200 million business, comprised globally of Dow Jones Newswires, Private Markets, distributed & marketed direct feeds, databases, desktop applications, e-Newsletters & web-based offerings to over 350,000 financial professionals & more than 34 million online brokerage account holders.
Joe initially joined Dow Jones in 2002 as VP & Head of Sales, Marketing & Product Management for the Newswires business in the Americas with revenues of $170M. Joe also held the role VP & Managing Director of the sales & trading business at Dow Jones, recognized for pioneering the first algorithmic & electronic trading elementized newsfeed available in the financial marketplace with content delivered in milliseconds for the first time ever. He also served as Director of Financial Education at Dow Jones Media Group and was the founder of the Barron’s in Education program now in place at over 120 colleges and universities across the country.
Prior to joining Dow Jones, worked for Barra Inc. as the President of the retail division & also served as Head of Business Development. Barra was acquired by MSCI.
Joe also worked in a variety of key leadership positions with Reuters America, including SVP of Reuters Online Solutions, VP & Head of Fixed Income Products in the Americas and Director of Sales: Banking and Brokerage Division.
He is a graduate of William Paterson University with a BA in Business Administration and concentration in Finance. Executive Leadership Program from University of Michigan- Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Held both the Series 7 and 63 Licenses.
